As part of a photo class I am taking, I decided to take the "365" challenge and take one photo a day for an entire year. I am going to post the results here. I am starting Oct. 1, 2010, to finish Oct. 1, 2011.

Deer Haven
Matt and I finally got to do some fishing! We went to Meadowlark lake and pulled out quite a few fish, a couple of them fairly nice. We stayed at a cute little cabin.

Moose
We saw a bunch of moose of this trip! And as always, they provide me with some great wildlife pics. Matt and I went as far into the Park as we could before leaving the area. I spotted this mama moose and her baby near the north part of the Lamar Valley. Matt let me bail out of the car, and I got a bunch of pictures of this little baby running circles around his/her mom and bucking and kicking like a little rodeo bull. They never even saw me.

Cooke City
We got up early and made our way to Cooke City. We had to go out the East Entrance of the Park, over to Cody and up to Cooke because the road was washed out in the Lamar Valley (The story of our trip...high water and closed roads), but we still made it in time. We stayed with Matt's friend Drew and his girlfriend, Celene, in an awesome house right outside town. Drew built it himself, and has many cool things hanging inside and outside, such as this big horn ram skull.

Yellowstone
We spent a night in Yellowstone at the Lake area. We had a little bitty cabin near Lake Lodge, but treated ourselves to a big fancy dinner at Lake Hotel. Afterwards, we smoked cigars on the porch of Lake Lodge before seeing the "No Smoking on Porch" sign. We did the Storn Point Hike before dinner, and saw this big guy relaxing near the trailhead.

Lander
On our way to Dubois, Matt and I had lunch with his friend Royce in Lander. We then went to the Sinks ( a very cool place where the river flows directly into the wall of a canyon and then resurfaces through the ground down river). They couldn't resist bouncing on the bridge over the river.

Chillaxin'
Roxanne and Jack are always my go-to family members for a photo op. :-) This is in Saratoga, WY, yet, they look so much more urban.

European Mount
One of Matt's friends did this mount for him of the deer he shot last fall. I like these style mounts much more than the ones you usually see.

Strawberry
I am attempting a patio garden and so far, so good! I grew my first little strawberry. I also ate it shortly after I took this photo. :-)
Oh, and I still don't have a new camera cable, but I was able to upload these to my iPad with a card reader, email them to myself and then post. Not the most fun way, but it worked.

Downpour
I can't believe the rain! We had a total downpour for most of the day that left our side of town almost flooded.

Softball
I don't know what was more fun...going to the 36-hour softball tournament, or getting beers after the guys were knocked out of the tournie.

Leaves
It has been very rainy and stormy! However, on this evening, the setting sun lit up the storm clouds into pretty colors, which made for on of my favorite photos.

Tea
I went shopping with Susan this weekend, and I got caught up in a whirlwind of tea at a specialty shop. Between the salesman's broken English and my having already had 8 free samples, somehow I ended up with a quarter pound of expensive loose-leaf tea. It is uber tasty though...you can see the big chunks of fruit in it.

No-bake
I have been a cooking/baking fool! I found the best recipe ever for no-bake cookies, even though it uses a stick of butter and two cups of sugar.

Bebes!
There is an adorable nest of baby robins in one of the trees at my folks' house. There are five little birds wedged into the nest. You can see four of their beaks sticking out here. How can that be comfortable? Mom Robin did not appreciate me poking into her nest...I was expecting a dive-bomb at any time.

Fireworks
After a fun and full day shopping with Susan, I went to a fireworks demo with Rox. Her boyfriend works at the fireworks stand, and every year they do a big demo of all their products. We sat on the hood of her car under a blanket and watched the sky light up. I got some good, conventional fireworks shots, and then Rox pointed out how cool the reflections of the fireworks looked reflecting on the cars.

Park
A pretty sunset in the park! Matt was sweet and went for a walk with me, even though he was pooped from work.

Butcher Paper
I like this one...it is a roll of butcher paper I keep in my art room. I use it to put dust covers on the back of framed art. I like the motion and geometry in this picture. Sometimes I don't like to say what the subject is because it takes away some of the mystery...

Marigolds
I bought some flowers for my patio with Mom and Rox! I love marigolds...they always remind me of summer.

Cloud
I took this photo of a storm cloud rolling in. Despite all the devastating tornados this year, Cheyenne was surprisingly funnel-cloud free.

Hot
It went from cold and snowy to way too hot in about two days. Stash agrees. This is pretty much how we all have been laying around. Also, happy birthday to Matt and Deb!

Grilled Greens
I have been trying to do some new recipes lately. I have a magazine that recommended grilling salad greens for something different in the summer. For these, I chopped a head of romaine in half, and rubbed each side with olive oil and cayenne. Matt tossed them on the grill, and I made the guacamole dressing topped with a little bleu cheese. Yum!

Heron-bird
Not quite sure what this bird is, but they are nesting all over the park. I was lucky to get pretty close to this one, but man, I love my 300mm telephoto lens.

Red
I know I have lots of flower and animal photos, but after this long winter, and rainy Spring, I am loving all the colorful bursts of life everywhere.

Birdies
I love the baby birds at the park! I am proud to say, no editing on this one either. :-) I was trying to get the setting sun to illuminate the gosling's down, and I think it turned out well.

Cards
What are the odds? Of all the cards, both my grandparents (who live in Littleton, CO and Casper, WY, respectively) sent me the same card. It must have been very reflective of me to make them all pick it. Crazy, huh?
